STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl - GOG

In 1986, the world's worst nuclear disaster occurred at the Chornobyl NPP. The Soviet authorities set up an "Exclusion Zone" around the crash site, but a second explosion rocked the reactor in 2006, creating the Zone we know today - a dangerously radioactive place filled with strange, anomalous energy that became a habitat for creatures that mutated. The zone is fenced off by military personnel who are ready to shoot down anyone foolish enough to enter it.

2012 year. The Zone is still a dangerous place that threatens all of humanity. Mercenaries, bounty hunters and explorers push deeper and deeper into the heart of the Zone, hoping to find strange "artifacts" filled with anomalous energy. To sell them later on the black market or try to find the "truth" hidden in the Zone. Whatever their initial motivation, these people came to be known as stalkers - from S.T.A.L.K.E.R., which stands for Scavengers, Trespassers, Adventurers, Loners, Killers, Explorers and Robbers (robbers).
