Electronic Arts has developed an anti-cheat at the operating system kernel level called EA AntiCheat (EAAC). It will launch this spring on PC. The first game to include EAAC will be FIFA 23.
According to EA, core-level protection is a must for competitive games with a lot of online modes. However, EAAC will not have a significant impact on the gameplay.
Anti-cheat is not planned to be added to all EA games. The company works with its game studios to determine the protection needs for each individual project. In single player games without an emphasis on the competitive component, other technologies can be added to combat cheats.
