The 2D action game Dead Cells will get a new addition related to another popular franchise - the cult Castlevania series from Konami. At The Game Awards 2022, a DLC titled Return to Castlevania was unveiled.
With the release of the add-on, a new location (Dracula's castle) and 14 new types of weapons will appear in the game, familiar to all fans of the serial vampire saga. In addition, the developers will present an alternative soundtrack, assembled from fifty tunes that sounded in various editions of the cult classic. 12 more recognizable tracks from the popular metroidvanias will migrate to the add-on completely, but will be processed in the style of the Dead Cells soundtrack.
The plot of the DLC is built around the association of the action protagonist with Alucard and Richter Belmont, the main characters of some Castlevania. The purpose of the union is to kill the permanent enemy of the two above-mentioned characters - the sinister vampire Count Dracula.
Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania will release on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in the first quarter of 2023.
