Bandai Namco and Ilca Studios have released the release trailer for One Piece Odyssey, a role-playing adventure set for a Western release tomorrow, January 13th. The game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4 and PC (Steam).
Critics have already begun to give ratings to the project - in general, they turned out to be mostly positive. On OpenCritic, One Piece Odyssey has a score of 76 based on 28 ratings and a Metacritic score of 75 based on 24 reviews.
The game has been called a "quality adaptation" of the source material, as well as a successful "transfer of the anime world into an RPG". Critics praise the combat system and the interesting storyline with well-written characters and a central theme of friendship.
It is noted that One Piece Odyssey lacks polish and some "improvements to the quality of life of the player." In addition, the level of difficulty of the project is unlikely to appeal to hardcore JRPG fans, and the pace of the game can be tedious.
One Piece Odyssey takes players on a new adventure through the beloved One Piece universe. During their journey, the Straw Hat Pirates, led by Monkey D. Luffy, are caught in a violent storm. A storm throws them onto a tropical island, but the crew members lose each other. Then Luffy decides to find his friends and find a way to get out of the mysterious island. Dangerous enemies, terrifying forces of nature and other unexpected surprises await him on the way.
One Piece Odyssey will offer players turn-based combat, exciting missions, clearing dungeons, developing heroes and chatting with allies.
