Role-playing action game Elden Ring from the Japanese studio FromSoftware was awarded a record number of Game of the Year titles. According to users of the ResetEra forum, Hidetaka Miyazaki's new creation received the highest award from 338 publications.
The previous record holder was The Last of Us: Part II - Neil Druckmann's dramatic action film in 2020 won recognition from 324 publications from around the world.
Second place in 2022 was taken by God of War: Ragnarok, but its gap from the leader of the race is huge - the new Santa Monica Studios project has only 84 corresponding awards.
The third position is occupied by Immortality by Sam Barlow, author of Her Story and Telling Lies. His creation was awarded the victory in the nomination "Game of the Year" only 7 times.
